Optus to release Galaxy Nexus is Australia on December 20

Advertisements

If we believe the internal sources of Ausdroid, Australian telecom operator Optus is likely to release Galaxy Nexus in the country around December 20. It is expected to be sold for free on the $79 Business Cap with a two year contract.

If this indeed turns out to be a reality, Australian buyers will finally have a cheaper contract based option to get Galaxy Nexus before Christmas.  There has been no official statement from Optus so far, but we hope to hear something very soon.

To remind you, Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone with Android 4.0 on-board and features a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera, 4.65inch Super AMOLED HD display and 16GB of internal memory.  Mobicity is already selling an imported model of Galaxy Nexus in Australia at $800.
