Telstra has announced that it will be the first telecom operator in Australia to sell the Android 4.0 smartphone Galaxy Nexus from tomorrow.  This much awaited ICS smartphone will be available for purchase from company’s flagship stores in Sydney and Melbourne including the recently unveiled Androidland.

Rest of the stores and partners like JB Hi-Fi are expected to start sales by Thursday. According to Telstra, availability of the device is purely about how fast it can deliver stock to stores.

It is selling Galaxy Nexus at $10 handset fee per month on its $59 Freedom Connect Plan for two years. You can see the other plan details below.

On the other hand, Optus also announced the smartphone on its network. Galaxy Nexus can now be pre-ordered from Optus with expected delivery around Dec 20-21.  It is offering Gnex at a $16 handset fee per month on its $29 Cap Plan for two years.
