Well, the latest bit of rumor hitting blogosphere is interesting. According to this piece of information, HTC is going to make a global Android smartphone launch on September 29 in New Delhi. Company will be officially unveiling its entry level offering HTC Explorer aka Pico, which was leaked recently.

India will be the first country to get the smartphone followed by other markets in Asia, and it makes sense to announce the smartphone in the country as India is one of the biggest market for entry-level devices.

Although there is no word on the pricing, we expect it to be priced below INR 10,000 making it company’s cheapest Android smartphone in the country. HTC Explorer is expected to feature 600MHz processor, 3.2-inch HVGA display, 384MB RAM, 512MB ROM, 5MP camera, Android 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.5.

HTC is also running a contest on its Facebook page, winners of which will be invited to the launch event.

Ram is 384 mb…..htc always do some sort of sitback for the people. If it would be 512 mb then its a steal deal and a big kickback to the undisputed king of budget aka optimus one. But still with the built quality htc has and 5 mp camera, htc should win here (10k price).

Pico has a plastic back cover which does not look nice. Change the back cover and increase the price and maintain brand value.
