Samsung to release another Android flagship this year to take on iPhone 5 [Rumor]

Tech blogs are abuzz with rumors of an upgraded Samsung Galaxy S II hitting the market around August/September to take on Apple iPhone 5, which is also expected to be announced the same time.

Samsung is planning to update the processor in Galaxy S II along with the latest Android version, which may be 2.3.4 or the one at the time of launch.

According to PopHerald, some Asia based sources are suggesting that this flagship smartphone might be named Samsung Galaxy S II Plus, while others suggest a totally different name removing the Galaxy branding.

Samsung Galaxy S II Plus or … possible specifications:

  • 1.4 GHz Dual Core Processor
  • Android 2.3.4 with Touchwiz
  • 1GB RAM
