Samsung working on Galaxy Tab 7 – a giant Galaxy S2?

Advertisements

According to the latest leak coming from Italian publication HDBlog, Samsung is working on a successor to its original Galaxy Tab with the same 7 inch display. Expected to be dubbed as Galaxy Tab 7, this tablet is expected to reach market in autumn. But, the most surprising part of this leak is the presence of Gingerbread on the tablet – yes, Samsung is planning to ship it with Android 2.3.4.

Galaxy Tab 7 will feature almost all the same specs as Galaxy S II but will switch Super AMOLED Plus for IPS display.  You can find the full list below.

There is no word on pricing, but I am expecting to be priced almost identical to original Galaxy Tab.

  • Exynos 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM, 2GB ROM
  • Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread w/ TouchWiz 4.0
  • 16GB of internal memory
  • Micro SD slot
  • Tab proprietary connector with USB Host capabilities (via adapter)
  • 7 inch WSVGA IPS display
  • 3G/4G
