Barnes & Noble is preparing to launch another e-reader device in United States. According to a federal filing released after the close of trading yesterday, it expects to make an announcement on May 24, 2011, regarding the launch of a new e-reader device.

Considering the success of Android powered Nook Color, we are expecting the new e-reader to run Android as well. But there is no word on the version being used in the new device, while everyone would expect it to run Android 3.0, company might opt for Android 2.2 or 2.3 based device as the hardware being used this e-reader might not be able to run Honeycomb perfectly.

Barnes & Noble would like to price the new e-reader in line with Nook Color, which is sold for USD 249, so we are expecting any super specs.
