Next Android version will be called “Ice Cream Sandwich”, says Googler

Looks like we can finally settle the name debate for next Android version. Often confused between Ice Cream and Ice Cream Sandwich, Googler “Romain Guy’s” post on Google Code issue has put it to rest by publically naming it – Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ice Cream Sandwich is expected bring Honeycomb goodness to phones along with several other tweaks.

Android Version Name History:

• 1.5          –              Cupcake
• 1.6          –              Donut
• 2.1          –              Éclair
• 2.2          –              Froyo
• 2.3          –              Gingerbread
• 3.0          –              Honeycomb
• 3.1          –              Ice Cream Sandwich [Expected]
