Handcent SMS updated to version 4.0 with Handcent Talk services and new UI
One of the most popular SMS messaging applications available for Android, Handcent SMS, has just received a pretty sizable update. The latest version of the app is 4.0 and brings along with it the introduction of the Handcent Talk service — a new instant messaging service which allows you to register for free and log in using your Handcent credentials to begin chatting with other Handcent Talk users.

Very few times do I see a video preview of an upcoming app and get as excited as I did when I saw the teaser video released yesterday for a new Twitter client, called “Carbon” for Android. Carbon is a client design built specifically for use with Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 devices and it just might be the best looking one we’ve seen yet.

App Update Overload: AndroZip File Manager, Dropbox & Lookout Security all get updates
Rather than busting these updates in to separate posts, I figured it’d be best to do one “App Update Overload” spot to let you know about a few nice apps that have updates waiting. Each app is great in its own way, but the updates just aren’t huge enough to devote an entire to each of them. That being said, you’ll still want to make sure you update ASAP, as they are directed at improving each app and making your experience better.

Google Voice updated with support for Android 4.0 Visual Voicemail
An update for Google Voice has been released on the Google Play Store, bringing the application up to version 0.4.2.54. The aim of the update is to bring a better experience to Android 4.0 devices with the integration of Ice Cream Sandwich’s built-in visual voicemail feature.
