After launching its first self-branded TVs in 2023, Roku is upping the ante. On January 3, the company revealed that it will launch the new Roku Pro Series TVs with mini-LED backlighting in 2024. These 4K TVs are expected to be significantly better than the company’s Select and Plus Series models. However, it is unclear which company is manufacturing the Pro Series TVs.

“As we hit 10 years of the Roku TV program, we believe this new line of TVs will set a new standard for an elevated streaming experience,” said Chris Larson, Vice President, Retail Strategy, Roku, in a statement.

Roku Pro Series details

Not much is known about the Roku Pro Series TVs at this point, but the company has said these models will cost less than $1,500. Roku also noted that Pro Series TVs will come in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch sizes and use a unique wall mount to allow the TVs to sit flush with the wall.

In other highlights, the Roku Pro Series TVs will have quantum dot technology for lifelike colors, full-array local dimming for better contrast and deeper blacks, and a new premium remote.

When will the Roku Pro 4K TVs become available?

Exact availability details are a mystery, but Roku has said the Pro Series TVs will become available “beginning spring of 2024.” So you won’t have to wait for long.

If you don’t want to wait for the Roku Pro Series TV, Sharp unveiled the first OLED TVs with Roku OS in November 2023. In terms of picture quality, these Sharp TVs will easily beat the Roku Pro Series TVs. The Sharp Roku TVs with OLED come in 55-inch and 65-inch models and cost $1,499 and $1,999, respectively. Besides these OLED models, Sharp also offers Roku TVs with LCD panels, which are unfortunately nowhere near as exciting as the OLED models. Unfortunately, the Sharp Roku TVs are currently only offered by ABC Warehouse and ABT.

Apart from buying a TV with built-in Roku OS, you can pick one of our best TV recommendations and use a Roku streamer, such as the Roku Streaming Stick 4K, to get the same experience.
