LG has unveiled a new portable projector as a part of its CineBeam lineup. Dubbed the LG CineBeam Qube HU710PB, the projector can display up to a 4K resolution using an RGB laser. There is no word on pricing or exact availability details at the moment. However, the HU710PB should appear in physical stores and online over the next few months.
What do we know about LG CineBeam Qube HU710PB
LG has said that the CineBeam Qube HU710PB has an impressive 450,000:1 contrast ratio. This means the projector is capable of producing inky blacks. LG also noted that the projector can cover 154 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is predominately used in movies and TV series. So, you will get the content just as the creator intended. Moreover, the new LG projector is suitable for projections up to 120 inches.
Other highlights include an auto-focus feature for quick setup and a built-in webOS 6.0 platform. As a result, you will get access to all popular streaming services, including Netflix, which is often unavailable on Android TV-powered projectors.
You will also get HDR10 support to enjoy high dynamic range content. But there is no Dolby Vision support, probably because the projector is only rated for 500 ANSI lumens brightness. Plus, there is an HDMI port with eARC support and USB Type-C input.
LG CineBeam Qube design
As you can see from the CineBeam Qube photos released by LG, the projector looks elegant and stylish. It also features a 360-degree rotatable handle for portability. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be made for outdoor use and has no built-in battery.
But you will be happy to know that the Qube is relatively lightweight with a 1.5kg weight. It measures 80 x 135 x 135 mm.
We expect to hear more about the Qube during CES 2024.
