Twitter has quietly rolled out a new feature on its mobile app, which shows users the popular articles around them or on their timeline. The feature is accessible by going to the search tab and scrolling down to popular articles.

According to Buzzfeed, which first reported about the feature, ‘popular articles’ is now live worldwide on both Android and iOS.

As the name states, the feature showcases the stories, which are getting most engagement on users’ timeline or the location they are based. Clicking on these popular stories, Twitter opens them in its application.

According to Engadget, the features has been in testing for a while, but has just been rolled out to everyone.

Twitter has been experimenting a lot over the past couple of years in its bid to keep more and more users on its platform. The company has also been rumoured to be working on a Tweetstorm feature, which will allow users to share longer content in an easier way.

If you don’t already see the feature, make sure you have the latest version of the application.
