As pretty much everything about the iPhone X was already leaked in the wild, there were no real surprises, still it takes little away from the fact, it is a dramatic update for the Apple smartphone users.
Two key staples of an iPhone – home button and Touch ID – are missing in the iPhone X. Instead the company is going for a nearly all-screen front with HDR capable super retina OLED display and ‘Face ID’- a biometric identification system which will use users’ faces to unlock the smartphone, authenticate payments. The company has also made several other upgrades including like support for wireless charging.
Despite all these new features, which I am sure iPhone users will appreciate, the iPhone X is in no way ‘the future of smartphone’ as Apple is claiming. It may be the “most powerful iPhone ever” but apart from its implementation of Face ID, there is nothing really unique in the phone. Having said that, it is always fun to check out how the phones stack up against each other in terms of raw specifications.
Here is a quick look at the iPhone X compared to Samsung Galaxy S8, HTC U11, Essential Phone, Google Pixel and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
