Facebook changes the way you share your location in Messenger

Advertisements

Facebook has released an updated version of Messenger app in Google Play, which brings a new way to share your location to your contacts.

According to Facebook, you can now choose to explicitly send a map of your location or another particular place as a separate message. The previous implementation allowed users to only embed their current location information to messages, which was accessible to their contacts. The new implementation will give more flexibility to the Messenger users.

“With this update, you have full control over when and how you share your location information. You only send a location when you tap on the location pin and then choose to send it as a separate message,” wrote Facebook in a press note.

How to send location details in Messenger?

  • Just tap the More icon or the location pin at the bottom of your screen
  • Search for the place or location and send a map of where it is or send a map of where you are to your Messenger contact
