Shen stated that the smartwatch will run on Android Wear platform and come with improved battery life. He dismissed the rumours of the delay in the release of 2nd-gen Zenwatch as a misunderstanding.
He warned that he doesn’t expect the Zenwatch to make any significant contribution to Asus’ total revenue as the demand for the device is unlikely to pick-up like its Zenfone line-up on account of the poor battery-life, which is plaguing all Android Wear devices. Still, the company is saying that Zenwatch 2 will last around four-days on a single-charge, which is double of what everyone’s offering right now.
No details are available about the device right now, but with Computex scheduled for June 2-6, we won’t have to wait for long.
