ZTE’s boutique smartphone brand nubia is all set to enter the Indian market. The company on Thursday sent out teasers to the tech press that it will soon be introducing a device in the country. The company has also launched its India website and set-up social media accounts.
Although nubia has not officially stated which smartphone it will be bringing to India first, we have learnt from credible sources that the company will unveil the Z9 mini soon.
Originally introduced in the Chinese market in March this year, nubia Z9 mini features a 5-inch full HD display and is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. The phone also comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and 4G LTE connectivity.
On the imaging front, the nubia Z9 mini packs a 16MP f2.0 rear camera and 8MP front shooter. In addition, ZTE has added Dolby 7.1 Surround sound support, NFC, USB-OTG, dual-SIM support and the usual set of connectivity options.
The India pricing of the phone is a mystery at this point, but the phone retails at 1499 yuan in China, so we can expect a price-tag around INR 16K in the country. It will compete with the likes of Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (2GB) and Xiaomi Mi 4i in the country, both of which retail under INR 15K.
As always, we will bring you all the details once the company makes everything official.
