Xiaomi has announced that it has reduced the price of Mi 4 (16GB) smartphone from 1999 yuan to 1799 yuan in the Chinese market. The smartphone can now be ordered at the reduced price from the company store.

The company has also revealed that it will be offering a 2GB RAM variant of the Mi 4 (16GB) at 1699 yuan during the Mi Fan Festival on April 8. The normal Mi 4 comes with 3GB of RAM. There is no word on whether the 2GB RAM variant will continue to be available after the festival.

While the Chinese consumers will be happy with the Mi 4 price-cut, the company has no plans to do the same in India. The 16GB version of the Mi 4 will continue to retail at INR 19,999 and 64GB version at INR 23,999 in the country.

Mi Verification app now in English

In related news, Xiaomi has released its device authenticity verification app in English. This app allows the Xiaomi device buyers to check the authenticity of their device. It is useful when you are buying a Xiaomi product from a third-party retailer, as most consumers do in countries, where Xiaomi doesn’t officially operate. Earlier, the app was only available in Chinese language and created issues at the time of the verification. You can grab from the app APK from MIUI forum.
