Lava rolls-out Android 5.0 update for iris X1 Grand

Lava has announced that it has begun the Lollipop update roll-out for its iris X1 Grand smartphone, making it the first device from the company to get Android 5.0. The update is now available over-the-air and will automatically reach your smartphone. You can also manually trigger the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software update > Check for updates.

Around 515MB in size, the update brings the usual Android 5.0-specific changes like efficient utilization of battery, more user friendly notification centre, updated interface, new lock screen and more.

The company has not revealed the Lollipop release plans for other Lava Android phones at this point.

To remind you, iris X1 Grand was originally unveiled in January this year and comes with features like 5-inch FWVGA IPS display, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter, 1GB RAM and 1.3 GHz quad core processor.
