Lava introduces Android 4.4-powered IRIS X1 smartphone for INR 7,999

Lava has announced the launch of its new IRIS X1 Android smartphone today. Priced at INR 7,999, the phone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and will be released in Black and White colour options.

The smartphone features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1. 2GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD cards slot. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front camera and 1800 mAh battery.

On the connectivity front, 3G support, dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB OTG are present on the smartphone.

It is for the consumers who not only want a high performance device but also a beautiful design. Iris X1 is designed to mesmerize the consumers and will surely create ripples in the market at this price-point,” said Hari Om Rai, Chairman & Managing Director, Lava International Ltd.

The phone goes on sale starting tomorrow. It will initially be available at Amazon.in, which will be offering a free 16GB Ultra Micro SD card bundled with the smartphone on May 27. The phone will later be released at brick and mortar stores and other e-retailers.

The new Lava IRIS X1 will be competing with the likes of Moto E and Micromax Unite 2 in the Indian market.
