Google earlier today revealed that the Android One program will reach the Indonesian market later this month. Indonesia is the fifth country after India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sir Lanka to get the Android One smartphones.

According to Google, it has partnered with three smartphone vendors – Evercoss, Mito and Nexian – for the Android One program in the country. Each of these vendors will release one smartphone each – Evercross One X, Mito Impact, and Nexian Journey.

Google notes that the specifications of the new Android One smartphones will be same as the existing phones apart from one exception. The Android One phones being released in Indonesia will come pre-loaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop (yes, you read it right, Android 5.1).

“Each one runs the latest version of Android (Lollipop) — the fastest, most responsive Android experience ever with up to 2x better performance than the previous version. The battery saver can help extend batteries by up to 90 minutes. Android’s new look, material design, has smooth scrolling and edge-to-edge graphics. There are also quick settings to conserve data: it takes just two quick swipes to turn off data and check data usage,” Google wrote in a blog post.

Google has also stated that telecom operator Telkomsel will be offering 200MB of free data per month to Android One smartphone owners for six months, which can be used for app downloads from Google Play. In addition, the Telkomsel subscribers will not be charged for data costs involved in over-the-air (OTA).

The final pricing of the new Android One smartphone is unclear at this point, but Google notes that the phone will be priced lower than 1.5 million rupiah ($118).
