Google has announced that the wait for the Lollipop update on Android One smartphones is finally going to end. According to the company’s India arm, the Android Lollipop update will be released for Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V and Spice Dream Uno in the next few weeks.
There is no word on an exact release date, but we expect to get more clarity on the update in the coming days. Google hasn’t shared any change-log at this point, but the Lollipop on Android One phones will be same as the Nexus devices.
You can expect to see UI improvements, material design changes, ART as default runtime, enhanced notifications, performance improvements, better battery life and more.
To remind you, the first batch of Android One smartphones were released in September last year with Android 4.4.4 on-board. All phones sport the same specifications, which include 4.5-inch FWVGA display, quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 5MP rear camera.
The status of the Lollipop update for Android One phones in Nepal, Bangladesh and Sir Lanka is a mystery at this point, but it shouldn’t take long as mostly the same Android One phones are available in these countries.

Update: Looks like, the Android One smartphones in India could directly jump to Android 5.1 as the just launched Android One smartphones in Indonesia run on Android 5.1
Finally after such a long wait but still google should say some exact date, when will they give the lollipop update for android one users in India .

It would be awesome if google provide lollipop 5.1 direct instead of 5.0.1/5.0.2
