The phone sports a 3.5-inch HVGA IPS display, and comes with 1300mAh battery, which Micromax promises, will provide 6 hours of talktime and 160 hours of standby time. A066 runs on 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6571 processor along with 512MB of RAM.
Multimedia features include a 2MP fixed focus primary camera with an LED flash and 0.3MP fixed focus front-facing camera. The phone comes with 4GB of internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card. It also comes with light sensor, gravity sensor proximity sensor and inbuilt FM radio.. In addition, Micromax Bolt A066 offers connectivity options like Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, Micro-USB and Wi-Fi. The website states no support for HSPA or 3G, so this phone might not provide the best browsing experience to the customers.
Overall, A066 looks like a toned-down version of the company’s previously launched A065 smartphone and is likely aims to target the sub INR 5,000 segment. Considering the lack of even low-range smartphone features like 3G, Micromax will have to price it very low to make it a success.
