Update: HTC has now officially launched the Desire 620G phone in the country. It will retail for INR 15,900, which was already revealed by the e-retailer listing.

Earlier: HTC India has quietly released the new Desire 620G smartphone in the Indian market. The phone was originally unveiled late last month in the company’s home-market Taiwan alongside Desire 620. Priced at INR 15,900, the smartphone is now on sale at Univercell.in, The Mobile Store and Snapdeal.com.

The smartphone features a 5-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor. The Desire 620G also packs 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, Android 4.4, 2100 mAh battery and dual-SIM support. In addition, the phone packs 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The smartphone is being offered in White and Grey colour options.

Considering the specifications, the phone is clearly over-priced and will have a hard-time competing with the new Moto G, Asus Zenfone 5, XIaomi Redmi Note, Acer Liquid E700 and other similar smartphones in the country.
