Oppo N3 and R5 smartphones to reach India by December

Oppo N3Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is planning to release the newly announced N3 and R5 smartphones in the Indian market by the end of December 2014, reports PTI. There is no word on the exact release date at this point but that should become clear as we head closer to the actual release.

The company has also kept the domestic prices of the smartphones a mystery right now but if global prices are any indication, Oppo N3 is expected to retail around INR 40,000 in the country and Oppo R5 will get a price-tag around INR 31,000.

Oppo India CEO Tom Lu told PTI that the company isn’t planning to compete with other firms on the pricing.  “Our Opportunity is to continue delivering incredible quality with products covering a range of prices,” Lu said. This means, we can stop expecting any aggressive prices from Oppo.

To remind you, the newly unveiled Oppo N3 is the successor to N1 and comes with specifications such as 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 3000 mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone includes a two-in-one SIM and MicroSD card slot, which can either take one nano-SIM card and one Micro-SIM card or one nano-SIM card and one MicroSD card. On the imaging front, N3 sports a 16MP rotating motorised camera, which is capable of taking 64MP images.

Oppo R5, on the other hand, sports a 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 13MP rear camera. The phone also packs 5MP front shooter and 2000 mAh battery, all in just 4.85mm thick chassis.

Both Oppo smartphones also include 4G LTE connectivity with support for Indian bands as well as Android 4.4.4 with Color OS 2.0.
