Hangouts gets Google Voice integration & voice calls

Google has finally started integrating Google Voice in Hangouts on Android. The integration allows you to receive voicemail and text messages via Google Voice in the Hangouts app.  The app will also let you to reply to texts. There might be some issues at this moment but we hope to see them sorted out in the coming weeks.

This isn’t all. Google has also announced that Hangouts now offers voice-calls to regular numbers, however you will indeed latest version of Hangouts app and an accompanying dailer app, which is available for free in Google Play. It’s free to call other Hangouts users, it’s free to call numbers in the U.S. and Canada but the international calls will cost you. It is important to note here that Hangouts voice calls are only available in the United States at this point

“We know how important it is to keep in touch with friends and family, especially when they’re spread around the world. Hangouts already makes it easy to send a quick message, or start a group video chat. But sometimes it’s best to just call to say “I love you,” and with the new version of Hangouts you can,” noted Amit Fulay, Product Manager, Hangouts in a blog post.

Pretty sure Google Voice isn’t rolling out in India. Right, Gaurav?
