Facebook Messenger app update adds support for doodling on photos

Facebook has released a small update for the Messenger app on Android. The update adds the support for adding text or drawing on the photos being shared by the app, however it is only available for photos already available in the gallery and not the ones taken within the Messenger app itself.

The update is rolling out now via Google Play and will reach your Android device in a day or two.

Official Facebook for Android app crosses 1 billion downloads

In related news, Facebook for Android app recently became the first non-Google app to cross 1 billion app downloads in Google Play. This number is quite significant for Facebook as it leaves behind many of the Google apps itself, most of which are pre-loaded in Android smartphones; however it is probably because that Facebook for Android is supported by every Android smartphone even those running on super old Android versions, something that even Google doesn’t provide with apps like Chrome or Hangouts

Earlier, Google Play Services, Gmail, Google Maps, and YouTube apps had crossed the 1 billion downloads milestone.
