Updated Facebook Messenger for Android now rolling-out to all

Facebook has finally started rolling-out the recently announced updated version of its Messenger app to all Android users earlier today. The update is now live in Google Play and will automatically reach your Android device, if you don’t have Facebook Messenger, you can download it using the link given in the end of the post.

Key features of the update Facebook Messenger app:

• The updated version of Messenger has been made from scratch for Android. It packs a completely new design and custom sounds
• Send messages to other Messenger users without the need for them to be Facebook friends but both users need to have each other’s mobile numbers in their address book
• App now shows whether your contacts are live from Messenger or FB website
• Removed SMS integration
