Originally introduced in April this year, Acer Iconia A1-713 tablet features a 7-inch 1024x600p display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 processor and Android 4.2. The company has promised to provide Android 4.4 update for the device.

Among other specifications, the tablet packs 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 3400 mAh battery, 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. On the connectivity front, Acer has included 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and voice-calling support on the tablet.

“Over the last year, Internet access has received a huge boost and has changed the dynamics of the Indian tablet market significantly. Popularity of the Android ecosystem, coupled with affordable data tariffs and improved reach of service has driven the demand for tablet PCs in the country. Witnessing the growth in demand for this form factor, we introduced a device that offers the functionality of a laptop and the portability of smartphones – the Acer ICONIA A1-713 is an ideal device for customers looking to enjoy mobile entertainment,” said S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India.

The Acer Iconia A1-713 will be competing with the likes Dell Venue 7 3G and Digiflip Pro XT712 in the country, both of which come with better specifications than the new Acer tablet.
