Micromax is getting ready to launch a new budget phablet in the Indian market. To be dubbed as Canvas L, the device has been listed on the company website. While the Micromax website has revealed the specifications of the phone, the pricing and availability details remain unclear.

According to Micromax, Canvas L features a 5.5-inch qHD display, Android 4.4.2, 1.3GHz quad-core MT 6582M processor, and 2350 mAh battery. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera, front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot.

Micromax has also included dual-SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and MicroUSB 2.0 port on the phablet.

On the software front, the Canvas L will come pre-loaded with apps like Kingsoft Office, BMS, Clean Master, Games club, Getit, Hike, Mi live, Mi security, MAD, Opera Mini, Swift key, and True Caller.

The company will need to price the phone aggressively as it will be going head-to-head with Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi Note smartphone, which packs quite decent specifications and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor.
