Featuring a metal frame, the Galaxy Alpha will still be mostly plastic on the outside but whatever little metal-use, it is nice to see Samsung move beyond just plastic. According to reports, the phone will pack a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, fingerprint scanner, heart-rate sensor (as can be seen in the leaked images), 32GB of internal storage and LTE-A support (in select markets). There seems to be no expandable storage but other specifications of the phone will include 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, NFC, Android 4.4.4 and Exynos 5 Octa processor. It is said to be the same smartphone, which was leaked as SM-G850 some days ago on GFXBench and was associated with the name S5 Neo.
There is no word on the release or pricing right now but a Korean media report suggests Galaxy Alpha could see limited release. We hope to get more clarity on this in the coming weeks.
