NVIDIA’s upcoming Shield tablet leaked online

The alleged successor to NVIDIA’s Shield gaming console has made its first appearance online. Leaked as a part of a render shared by @evleaks, the Shield gaming tablet will arriving in the coming months.

While the latest leak doesn’t contain much information, a lot has already appeared online over the last few weeks. As per a benchmark listing, the tablet will have a 7.9-inch 2048x1536p display, Android 4.4, 2GB of RAM and NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad-core processor. The Shield tablet will also reportedly pack 16GB of on-board storage, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

According a recent report in BBC, the tablet will be able to connect to a PC to utilise the processor powering of the GPU present in the computer. The company will also be bundling a controller with the tablet for easier playback of the games and allow the consumers to stream the games on their HDTVs.

NVIDIA hasn’t stated anything officially but it has mentioned quite a few times that it is working on an “awesome new gaming product that is launching soon”. We hope to hear more from the company soon.
