Google releases stock email app in Google Play

Continuing the gradual release of core Android applications in Google Play, Google has now published the stock email app in the store. Currently accessible only to the owners of Nexus and select Google Play edition devices, the app brings some improvements to the existing email app.

As per the Google Play listing, the updated app includes increased security for Gmail accounts, easier account setup flow, printing support and bug-fixes.

There is no word on whether Google will release the app for other device users but it is likely that we will see the expanded availability in the coming months.

Apart from Email, other core Android applications, which are already available in Google Play, include Google Calendar, Google Camera, and Google Now launcher.

Updated versions of Chrome Beta, Google Drive, Hangouts, and My Tracks arrive in Google Play

In related news, Google has released updated version of several of its Android application in Google Play. The apps, which are now receiving these updates, are Chrome Beta, Hangouts, Drive, and My Tracks.
