Alcatel One Touch & Flipkart to launch Idol X+ on May 29

TCL Communication’s smartphone brand Alcatel One Touch is gearing up to launch its new Idol X+ smartphone in the Indian market. The company today sent out invites to the tech press in the country for a launch event on May 27, where it will be unveiling for the phone. As per the invite, the phone will exclusively retail on Flipkart.com.

Originally unveiled in December 2013 in China, Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ features a 2GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, 5-inch full HD IPS display, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.2. The phone also packs 2MP front camera, 13MP rear camera, dual-SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 16GB of on-board storage.

There is no word on the pricing at this moment, however the given the Chinese pricing of 1,999 yuan ($330), we expect the phone to retail around INR 20,000 in the country. The phone will be competing with the likes of recently-launched Panasonic P81, Intex Aqua Octa, Karbonn Titanium Octane, Huawei G750, and Micromax Canvas Knight in the country.
