There might be no Nexus 6, LG-made Android Silver phone is coming

Since the first leak about the Android Silver program, there has been a doubt over the future of Nexus smartphones and it seems we might have already seen the last Nexus phone.

While I personally believe that we still have one more Nexus device coming – the rumoured HTC-built Nexus 8 tablet but reports indicate that we might not see the Nexus 6 smartphone. According to @evleaks, there will be no Nexus 6 and the next smartphone with Google co-branding will be an Android Silver product.

He also notes that LG, which has made the last two Nexus smartphones, has been chosen as the first partner for an Android Silver smartphone, which will be coming in February 2015. Well, that seems like an awfully long wait but if this is any respite, the phone is said to be coming with 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor on-board.

No other details are available at this point but to remind you about the Android Silver program, Google will be spending a lot of money on the marketing on the Android Silver devices, which unlike Nexus, are going to the consumer-centric and not enthusiast or developer devices.
