Archos unveils cheap Androidbook with 10-inch display

Advertisements

Lenovo’s budget Androidbook is getting some company in the form of Archos’s new ArcBook. Powered by Android 4.2, this Androidbook from Archos has been priced at $169.99 and will go on sale in June.

There is hardly anything exciting about the device. It packs a 10-inch 1024x600p display, 8000 mAh battery, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and 1.2GHz RK3168 dual-core processor. The usual ports like USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB 2.0 present on the device along with a microSD card slot. The company has also included stereo speakers, webcam and a microphone. Among the connectivity options, Archos ArcBook only comes with Wi-Fi.

While I personally believe that Androidbooks can be better performers than Chromebooks, many manufacturers aren’t trying out the format and whenever there is an Androidbook, it is sub-standard. HP however seems to be working on a decent one in the form of Slatebook 14. There is no word on when HP Slatebook 14 will arrive.
