
Microsoft has announced that its 5-inch Nokia XL smartphone will start rolling-out today in APAC (Asia-Pacific) and IMEA (India, Middle-East and Africa) regions. The phone will be sold at €109 plus local taxes and subsidies in Green, Orange, Cyan, Yellow, Black and White colour options.
Originally introduced along with Nokia X and X+ at MWC 2014, Nokia XL comes with 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 768MB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 2000 mAH battery. The phone also comes with dual-SIM support, 3G, microSD card slot, AOSP Android 4.1 and Nokia/ Microsoft services.
“Capable of running Android apps, the Nokia XL offers the perfect blend of Nokia apps and Microsoft’s most popular services,” Microsoft noted in a blog post. The company also noted that Nokia XL ships with the very latest Nokia X Platform software, which is now also available as an over-the-air update for current Nokia X owners.
Nokia XL India launch
There is no word on the exact release date of Nokia XL in India but we expect see an announcement very soon. The phone will probably go on sale in the next two weeks.
