HTC releases BlinkFeed, Sense TV, Gallery & other apps in Google Play

HTC seems to be going Motorola-way by releasing key parts of the phone’s software in Google Play. The company today launched the updated Blinkfeed and Service Pack apps in Google Play, which will allow it to update them without releasing a full software update for the phone. Motorola has been doing the same since the release of Moto X.

Update: HTC has also launched Sense TV app, which comes with support for HTC One Google Play edition, HTC Guide and Gallery apps in Google Play.

The release in Google Play doesn’t mean that these apps will work on all devices but are only compatible with select HTC devices like the new HTC One, HTC One (2013) and more.

Coming to the HTC apps, Blinkfeed allows the consumers to get their social feeds, calendar events, news, music and content all at one place. “BlinkFeed removes the need to open multiple apps. And for those with no data plan, the Offline Reading feature lets you update feeds with WiFi, and then save them to read later,” notes HTC in Google Play description.

HTC Service Pack on the other hand seems to be a software update add-on, which will help HTC device users in keeping their phones updated to the latest software.
