Samsung Galaxy Gear gets a price-cut in India, will now retail for INR 14,490

Samsung has decided to reduce the price of Galaxy Gear smartwatch in the Indian market. Originally launched in the country for INR 22,990, the smartwatch will now retail for INR 14,490.

This is a huge price-cut but an expected one as Galaxy Gear isn’t getting much consumer love. There is practically no sense in buying a smartwatch at INR 22,990 that works with a very select few smartphones and offers little functionality.

It will be interesting to see whether the latest price-cut help in the sales of the Galaxy Gear. To remind you, this is not the first price-reduction, Samsung India had earlier taken down the price of Gear to INR 19,075 but that didn’t seem to have done the trick.

To remind you, Samsung Galaxy Gear is a smartphone companion device, which comes with features like 1.63-inch OLED display, 1.9MP camera and can make calls, display messages, record videos and snap photos.

E-retailers are yet to update the new price-tag but we expect to see the change in in the next couple of days.
