Micromax to launch 5.5-inch Canvas Tube A118R smartphone

Looks like Micromax is planning to launch a new smartphone named Canvas Tube A118R in the coming months. This smartphone will come with a 5.5-inch display, revealed the company in its presentation showcased during the press event organised to mark Micromax’s entry in Russia.

This presentation lists the key specifications of the smartphone but details about the availability or pricing are a mystery. Micromax Canvas Tube will come with 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 3G, Android 4.2.2, 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The phone will also feature 2300 mAh battery, microSD card slot and the usual connectivity options.  There is no word on RAM or internal storage at this point.

Micromax will be marketing the smartphone as a media consumption device and is going to pre-load IVI.ru app on the phone for Russian users. We don’t know if the company is planning similar partnerships for the India release of this smartphone.
