Google makes tablet-optimised Play Store live

Advertisements

As announced earlier, Google has made the tablet-optimised version of Google Play Store live for big-screen Android users. This will allows tablet users to get hold of best applications that are suitable for the large screen real-estate available on tablets.

What can you expect on Google Play for tablets?

According to Google, “Designed for tablets” section will appear as the default view in top lists but users will still be able to switch “Designed for phones,” to see all applications and games if needed.

The company also notes that the applications that don’t meet the criteria for tablet-optimised apps, will appear as “Designed for phones.”  Rest all of Play Store will work as you have seen in the past.

If you are a tablet user, you can expect to see the updated Play Store client on your device sometime in the next few days, if not today.

If you are a developer and want to make your app tablet-friendly, you can get all the necessary information at the link given in this Google+ post.
