Samsung ships 40 million Galaxy S4 units since launch: Report

Reports originating from South Korea reveal that Samsung co-CEO JK Shin stated at a local press event that the company has shipped 40 million units of its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone since the launch earlier this year. To remind you, Samsung Galaxy S4 went on sale in in late-April this year.

This revelation comes at a time when several publications have been suggesting that Galaxy S4 sales have not been up-to the mark and due to this, the company might release Galaxy S5 earlier than expected, which seems unlikely now.

This is a really big feat for Samsung and with this Galaxy S4 comfortably overtakes Galaxy S III’s milestone of 30 million shipments in six months.

Samsung is expected to officially announce this milestone as a part of its third quarter earnings on Friday.
