Introduces new Arctic Blue colour variant of Galaxy S4 in Japan
Samsung has revealed that it has shipped 6 million Galaxy S4 units worldwide in just 15 days of launch. The company had begun selling the smartphone on April 26 in South Korea. Samsung also predicts that it will reach 10 million units by the end of May.
The company had shipped the first four million units in April itself. “As of the end of April, we supplied four million Galaxy S4 handsets to telecommunication operators around the world,” an executive at the company said recently.
To put these numbers in perspective, it took Samsung 85 days to ship the first 3 million Galaxy S units, 55 days to do the same for Galaxy S II and 21 days for Galaxy S III.
Samsung has stated that Galaxy S4 is the fastest selling smartphone till date from the company.
In related news, Samsung has officially introduced the Arctic Blue colour variant of Galaxy S4 in Japan as a part of NTT Docomo’s summer line-up. The phone will go on sale beginning May 23 along with White Frost and Black Mist colour variants.
