In addition to the already compatible Note 3 and Galaxy S4 (thanks to already rolling out Android 4.3 update), Samsung is planning to bring Galaxy Gear compatibility to at least seven more Galaxy devices.

The company today stated in a press release that Galaxy S III and Note II will get Gear support with the upcoming Android 4.3 update for both the smartphones, however other Galaxy devices like Galaxy S4 mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and S4 zoom will get an independent software update to bring compatibility for the smartwatch.

“Extending Galaxy Gear compatibility to more Galaxy devices reflects our deep commitment to continuing to deliver enriched mobile experiences to our consumers,” said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile division, Samsung Electronics. “Through a significant effort to enhance and enrich the Galaxy experience, Samsung continues to empower our users in their mobile lives and enable smart freedom with Galaxy Gear.”

The independent software update with Gear support for Galaxy devices will be available beginning the end-of-October.
