Champion & BSNL launch Trendy 531 smartphone for INR 13,999

State-run telecom operator BSNL has partnered with Indian computer peripherals vendor Champion Computers to launch a new smartphone in the country. Dubbed as BSNL Champion Trendy 531, the smartphone runs on Android 4.2 and has been priced at INR 13,999.

Other features of the phone include 5.3-inch display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, dual-SIM support and 13MP rear camera. The Champion Trendy 531 also comes with 5MP front camera, 3200 mAh battery, 4GB of storage, microSD card slot, and the usual connectivity options.

BSNL is offering free 500MB of 3G data per month for a full year with every purchase of the smartphone.

“Our collaboration with BSNL celebrates the launch of the BSNL Trendy 531 phablet in India, the market for which is at an inflection point. With people becoming familiar with technology and its applications, we promise our customers an excellent user experience with the latest technology at a great price,” said Kapil Wadhwa, MD, Champion Computers Pvt. Ltd.

The smartphone is now available on Champion Computers website, which promises to ship in ten days.
