iBall has announced the launch of a new variant of its Edu-Slide Android tablet in the Indian market today. The tablet is being targeted to a very specific user-group – IIT JEE aspirants as it comes pre-loaded with content developed by popular coaching institute Bansal Classes for JEE preparation.

The pre-loaded content includes a master problem package, eBooks for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with personalization tools and more.

In terms of the raw specs, the new Edu-Slide tablet packs a 10.1-inch display with 1280x1024p SXGA resolution, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 8GB of storage, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, and 8000 mAh battery.

iBall is releasing two versions of the tablet – Wi-Fi only and dual-SIM 3G+ Wi-Fi and there is a slightly difference between the two models apart from the obvious presence of dual-SIM card slots in 3G model. The Wi-Fi version is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core cortex A9 processor, while 3G version comes with a quad-core processor (no word on clock speed or anything else).

“We hope iBall Edu-Slide will provide students an excellent additional learning tool to all – those who are attending any classes or preparing without attending any classes,” said Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director, iBall.

Pricing:

  • iBall Edu-Slide Wi-Fi variant: INR 30,999
  • iBall Edu-Slide  3G variant: INR 35,999

Iball has to rethink about the price or else it will be a huge flop. The specs are also outdated for the price except for the quad core processor.
