Low-cost Moto X might use swappable back panels

Advertisements

As you would remember, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside told CNET earlier this month that Motorola was working on an affordable version of Moto X for emerging markets. Well, now it looks like that this budget version of Moto X will come with swappable back panels, indicating that buyers will still be able to get some level of customisation despite the missing Moto Maker.

A Weibo user posted an image showing two of these swappable back covers of this budget Moto X version.  The user also mentions that this variant of Moto X will also come with dual-SIM support, a feature that is loved in developing markets.

Other details about the smartphone are still a mystery but Motorola is likely to make cuts from the specs side to keep the phone affordable. We expect to hear more in the coming weeks.
