NVIDIA Shield gets a price-cut one week before its release

Advertisements

NVIDIA today announced that it is reducing the price of its upcoming portable gaming console Shield. NVIDIA Shield will now be sold for just $299 rather than $349, which was shared at the launch.  This is a pretty big price-cut for a product that is yet to reach stores.

“We’ve heard from thousands of gamers that if the price was $299, we’d have a home run. So we’re changing the price of SHIELD to $299,” NVIDIA noted in a blog post.

Customers, who have already pre-ordered NVIDIA Shied, will only be charged the new and lower pricing at the time of shipping. To remind you, Shield is supposed to go on sale beginning June 27, so we have only a week more to go.
