Google Glass passes through Bluetooth SIG

As Google gets ready to ship Glass Explorer Edition to developers, the device has passed though Bluetooth Special Interest Group certification. It was found sporting Bluetooth 2.1.

Google had recently told Techcrunch that it is finally ready to ship the Explorer Edition of Google Glass to interested developers who had registered for this futuristic device at last year’s Google I/O.  As Google Glass will no longer be just a test product for Googlers, it is imperative that it gets the require certifications like the one it got yesterday from Bluetooth SIG.

The device had already passed though FCC in the January-end this year.

There is still no confirmed date for the retail availability of Google Glass, but Google has hinted towards the year-end launch and if everything goes well – we might actually see it in stores or online by Christmas this year.

Google had also recently selected 8,000 people in the United States that will get early access to Google Glass.
