Is this Samsung’s upcoming mirrorless Android camera?

Advertisements

An image of the alleged Samsung NX2000 mirrorless camera has appeared online. Given the presence of a ‘home button’ on the camera, blogs are speculating that it might be an Android or Tizen running camera.

Although, there is no way to authenticate the image, we have heard rumours in the past that some of the upcoming Samsung NX series cameras might be running on Android. Even a trademark application from the Korean manufacturer for ‘Galaxy NX’ was spotted on USPTO website, suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy Camera successor may be dubbed as Galaxy NX.

Reports indicate that Samsung NX2000 will be an upgraded version of Samsung NX1000 with Android on-board. It is rumoured to come with tilting screen like the MV900 and a new electronic viewfinder (EVF).

There have been no real leaks so far, so we are pretty much in dark about other features.

To remind you, Samsung currently sells two version of its Android-powered Galaxy Camera – 3G and Wi-Fi only. Apart from Samsung, Nikon and Polaroid also have Android-powered cameras in their portfolio.
