We are not selling to Google: Whatsapp

Advertisements

Whatsapp has told AllThingsD that it is not in talks with Google for a buyout as being reported in the tech media.

Neeraj Arora, who is Business Development Head at Whatsapp, noted to the publication that his company is not holding any sales talks with Google, but declined to comment further.

The revelation comes days after Digital Trends reported that Google was in active discussions with Whatsapp to buy the popular messaging service for $1 billion.

This is not the first time that we are hearing about Whatsapp buyout rumours and then a denial from the company. Earlier, the same thing happened with Facebook, which was also reportedly buying Whatsapp.

Whatsapp is one of the most popular multi-platform messaging apps in the world, making it a perfect acquisition target for many.
