Might be launched at Computex Taipei

Acer is readying to launch a new budget tablet Iconia A1-810, which is expected to be announced at Computex Taipei in early-June. The tablet was spotted on pre-order at a French retailer RueduCommerce, which revealed the detailed specifications and product shots.

The Acer Iconic A1-810 packs a 7.9-inch display with 1024 x 768p resolution like iPad Mini. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which is the latest version of Android. In terms of the processing power, Acer has included MediaTek’s quad-core MT8125 processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

Among other features, Acer has also included 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, microSD card support and usual connectivity options. On the imaging front, the Iconia A1-810 packs a 5MP primary camera and VGA front camera.

The Taiwanese manufacturer is clearly aiming to price it cheap, and the un-confirmed price-tag listed at the retailer’s site – €199 ($258, INR 14148), seems in line.  The retailer also notes the shipping date as June 3, which is just a day before Computex, meaning Acer might be planning to start shipping it in select countries on the day of launch.
